Almost every piece of software now advertises AI. Usually that means a chat window bolted onto an existing program. With iSaaS, intelligent Software as a Service, it is the other way round: the AI is not an add-on but part of the workflow. It reads what comes in, sorts it, writes drafts and recognises when a human has to decide. For small and mid-sized businesses this is the more interesting variant, and it is exactly the kind of product we build for our clients at Mignuti Media.
What is iSaaS?
Classic SaaS is software that runs in the browser and is paid monthly: accounting, CRM, appointment booking. It stores and manages, but the actual work is still done by people. iSaaS adds three abilities:
- Understanding: emails, PDFs, photos and voice messages are read and turned into structured data.
- Suggesting: the software delivers a finished draft, such as a quote, a reply or an assignment, which an employee only has to check.
- Working with your data: answers are based on your price lists, manuals and past cases, not on the general knowledge of a language model.
The difference from “SaaS plus AI plugin”: the AI sits exactly where time is lost in the process today, not in a separate window you first have to open.
Why SMEs in particular benefit
Corporations have their own data science teams. A twelve-person trades business or a small tax office does not. At the same time, these are exactly the places short of skilled staff, where a large part of the day goes on routine: answering enquiries, typing up documents, coordinating appointments. iSaaS brings AI in a form that works without an in-house AI team:
- No infrastructure of your own: the software runs in the browser, on any device, even on a building site.
- Predictable costs: a monthly fee instead of an open-ended large project.
- Tailored: a solution for your workflow, not a tool you have to bend your workflow around.
Examples from our clients’ everyday work
A few typical cases we come across with businesses in the Koblenz region and on the Dalmatian coast:
- Trades: the customer sends photos and a few sentences via a form or WhatsApp. The software recognises the trade, asks for missing measurements and creates a draft quote with items from your price list.
- Law and accounting offices: incoming receipts and letters are read, assigned to the right client and given a deadline. Unclear cases are flagged for a human.
- Tourism, wineries and holiday rentals: booking and guest enquiries in German, English, Croatian or Dutch are answered in the guest’s language, with real availability instead of boilerplate.
- Education and training: participants get answers about courses, registration and deadlines around the clock, from the official documents and with sources.
In every case the AI prepares and the human decides. That is not only safer, it is also the variant that actually gets adopted in day-to-day work.
Data protection and the EU AI Act
For German and Croatian clients this is the first question, and rightly so. We build iSaaS products to hold up in a data protection review:
- Hosting on servers in Germany or the EU, data processing agreement included.
- AI services are connected so that your data is not used to train third-party models.
- Users can clearly see when they are interacting with an AI, as required by the transparency obligations of the EU AI Act.
- Answers rely on your sources and cite them. If the data is not sufficient, the system says so instead of guessing.
Founder Eduard Ditler is a certified AI Manager with proof of AI literacy under Art. 4 of the AI Act. That mostly helps with deciding which AI feature makes sense and which is better left out.
What we build at Mignuti Media
We do not just develop iSaaS for clients, we run our own. The Mignuti Chatbot is one such product: it reads the content of a website or a PDF and answers visitor questions in twelve languages, hosted in Germany, with sources. With tapthat.one we launched a complete SaaS platform with billing, multiple languages and analytics. That hands-on experience goes into every client project.
A typical project runs in four steps:
- Workshop: we look at your workflow and find the point where AI saves the most time.
- Prototype: within a few weeks, a clickable prototype using real sample data from your business.
- Product: expansion into a finished web app with user management, permissions, integrations and, if you want, billing, should you wish to sell the product yourself.
- Operation: hosting, maintenance, monitoring of AI answers and further development.
The third point is the exciting one: many businesses have built up knowledge over years that other companies in their industry need too. The internal solution becomes a product of its own with monthly revenue.
In person in Germany and Croatia
We work from Lahnstein near Koblenz, Germany, and from Primošten, Croatia. For businesses in Koblenz and the surrounding region, and on the coast between Šibenik and Split, we are happy to come by for the workshop; everything else runs remotely, across the DACH region and Croatia alike. If you have an idea for intelligent software, or just a process that costs you time every day: get in touch and you will receive a non-binding quote within 48 hours.
